I paint
The picture of a world
Where I can proudly
Stand on the altar
And hear the priest say
"I give this groom to
This groom & pray
For their everlasting love"

एक चिठ्ठी भेजूंगी
किसी दिन,
अगर काग़ज़ बे - अल्फ़ाज़
ही मिले,
तो समझ लेना
जज़्बात अब भी
लफ़्ज़ों से परे हैं,
और कहीं
तुम्हारी तरह ही
हम भी तुम्हारे
इंतज़ार में
खड़े हैं।

I'm not a small plant
Prone to die,
I'm not a cactus
To hurt, who tries
I'm a shrub
Small but resilient,
Fighting all of it,
Staying
Growing pretty flowers
Only for the right seasons
to see,
Happy in my form
In a world of
magic and glee.

Long gone
Are the days
When women were like climbers,
Who needed support to grow
Lest they fell,
And were trampled.
Now they're becoming
Like succulents.
Pretty
With little flowers added,
Powerful
To survive dearth,
And with a promise
To support
Tender climbers,
If they need
A place to lean on!

ये जो दूसरों को दिल दुखाने वाले
इतने खुश बैठे हैं,
या खुदा, क्या तू अपना
बही - खाता भुला बैठा है?

The one's who are
Meek and polite,
Those who resort to
Manipulation and deceit,
The one's who've won
All those who lost,
Those stayed in boxes
Those swore by lines crossed,
Ones who escalated fast
Those trailed slowly,
Some with their greatness sung
Some with their acts lowly,
The heads adorned with crowns
Then some's hung in shame,
Those's efforts manifested
Those who tried in vain,
After all is said and done,
Happens what?
To put to rest
every single traveller
Comes Death -
The one great leveller.

And when it all goes
back to normal
Which it inevitably will,
Will your eyes always
Keep conversing with mine
The way they do now?
Will you always ask me if I'm
Smiling within
Even if you cannot see it?
Will you forever
Give up your masks
And
Just be you
With me?

When you lie back
in bed
A little too early
Dreading
The yet to come
Morning light
Having no hope
Forgetting all dreams
All the world's
Negativity
In your head
Screams
When the light
At the end of
The tunnel
Scares more
than it delights
When nothing
Ends the misery
There is no end
To your plight
When you battle
More what's in you
Than the challenges
Of what's outside
Every breath
that you take
Every step
that you tread
As unceremonial
As it is seems
Is Victory re-defined!

ज़रूरी है
पकड़ बनाए रखना
ज़िन्दगी में,
परिस्थितियों पर
ताकि हाथ से
ना निकल जाए सब।
पर इस गलफत
में पकड़ इतनी
ना मजबूत करें,
की कसमसाती
घुट जाए ज़िन्दगी।

Warning you,
Watch out
Or
You'll fall for me.
And me?
I'll rip your heart
Then,
turn you into poetry
Oh, and the world
will side with me,
Just for the
Love of Art!
