You'll lower your nose from the skies And the self-righteousness would turn to shame...

I am grateful for the rain,
It started and I found no shelter
It sliced my skin open with its spear drops
It beat me to a pound
It disfigured me till people shunned me

Even so I am grateful for the rain
It washed me clean again
It cleared my skies and welcomed the sun
It revealed the rainbow in my sky

I am grateful for the rain
It will fall again
It will do me dirty
And it will bless me.
