Our laughs get realer and our smiles get bolder,
I marvel at the love you have in your heart
It’s none like I’ve ever seen.

If genuine love was human,
The whole of you fits right into that.
On tough days you are a fighter

As much as I am a wordsmith,
I find it hard to forge the right ones for you,
Adun Mi, you’re a beautiful human
You overwhelm the whole of my being.

I get teary when I think of our hurts,
My heart wobbles at the sight of my imperfections,
But your unsaid words sooth my pain
And like the balm of gilead,
Your touch heal my hurts.

I dream of your pretty big smiles Ife,
I smile at the thought of your naughty giggles,
You make everyday be like Valentine
And that’s how I want to spend the remaining of my days.

Dear Dad,

*Deep sigh*
Hello Pops! It’s been a minute,
I guess I got overwhelmed
By the previous letters I penned;
Rush of many words to say,
But are better left unwritten;

Are there no messengers?
‘Cos I still can’t get a reply
From that abyss of eternity,
Are they all myths?
The tales of the world beyond,
The songs of the world unseen,
That you once told before your exit;
That you once sang before your demise.

Really, it’s been an alone world;
Despite my army load of acquaintances,
Still I wallow in great aloneness*
And it gets really tougher,
But your little soldier gets stronger,
I hope that makes you happy enough
Or emotions don’t exist in your world?

Look! it’s doors are wide opened,
But your wings are over your head
And you can’t see how close you are to the horizon.

Hey Little Monalisa,
Take a step away from your canvas,
Your Davinci is now far gone,
He had you in between the frames 🖼️
And painted you in smiles
And painted on you smiles
To cover up your pains his art never told.

Hey Free Bird, It’s time to fly,
Let’s fly far into the horizon
Take my hands and hop on me,
Let’s stray far away from your hurts,
Maybe the stars are ours to realign,
Maybe fate is just a word to cage our world,
Maybe there was never really a fault in our stars.

Like a rush of winds just before the rain, I uncovered my jar of emotions just so you’ll take a peek and see my feels of you;

But like a careless toddler, you tossed the whole jar away and left me to pick the ruins.

Here’s my first one to you since what feels like forever; but we both know I had tried many times past, but ctrl Del has them all in his ‘God knows where’.
It took a whole lot of courage to finally pen this out, but here’s to you to know I’m your number 1 fan and I love you, even though I get so shy to say it.
However, it’s safe to let you know that it’s time to be intentional about yourself and never let no one tell you how to do it anymore, as long as you’re positive and healthy about your actions.

Tonight, you saw the tears of a clown;

That’s the last pop off the balloons,
Cos it was just like every other days,
When he made people laugh away their worries,

Like a mirror, he watched you as you speak,

There goes a tingling beyond his wide chest,
A sensation off his tiny heart,
There he goes clutching on his pillows,
Like a toddler who got deprived of chocolate euphoria.

You became the muse he’d once lost,
He became the love you’d hoped for,
A smile so genuine across his face,
But a familiar doubt across your mind.
