If your heart still beats, then your soul can still learn the qur'an

Almajiri...Our Future Leaders(2)

They hold a wooden plank with verses to learn,
Failure means beatings—no room for concern.
The sugarcane is sweet, but their lives are not,
Young and fragile, yet left to rot.
They carry plates instead of books,
A childhood stolen by helpless looks.
People misunderstand the religion of peace,
Yet their actions create children with no peace.
Parents abandon, society turns blind,
Leaving young souls in a world unkind.
A malam without food for his students to eat,
Should never accept them, cast into the street.
Don't birth a child you cannot sustain,
And leave them to suffer in hunger and pain.
Yes, the Prophet wanted an ummah vast and bright,
But not one built on suffering, dimming the light.
A child should learn in dignity, not shame,
Not struggle for food in learning’s name.
If we stay silent, if we turn away,
Their dreams will die, and we’ll be to blame.
Let’s not just watch; let’s make things right,
Let’s not just watch; let’s make things right,
For they were birthed like you and I, with a future just as bright.

Almajiri – Our Future Leaders

Always with a big bowl from morning till night,
Walking the streets, hoping for a bite.
Suffering from hunger, disease, and pain,
Yet the world ignores them again and again.
"I was an Almajiri since I was nine."
No roof to call home, no food to call mine.
Barefoot on scorching ground, clothed in rags,
Yet carrying the Qur’an in worn-out bags.
Houseless, foodless, left in despair,
Yet people pass by like they’re not there.
To us, it's a tragic and painful sight,
But to them, begging is just their right.
To memorize the Qur’an, must they starve?
Must they roam the streets, battle-hardened and scarred?
Must they sleep in the cold, wake up in pain,
And chase knowledge through hunger and rain?
