I think about them as steps in the stairs of success

SMALL
Five letters, too large
Yearning a size zero
Gave up bread
No! Fruit has sugar!!
Now you must run laps around the track
Let your toes bleed,
You're becoming skinny
SKINNY
TINY
Words that dont fit my ideals
Waist that's thicker than a piece of paper Crunch away your hunger --
Let it hurt
Eat some chillies
Sweat away, cry away dear child!
You're becoming skinny
Bottles by the bedside
Donuts by a dozen
Eat, my child.
Feed your crumbling body, your mortified soul
Do you feel sick? You must eat!
Eat, for there is no tomorrow
Tomorrow holds empty --
Vinegar and black coffee
Shut up, and count your calories.

Stumbling but never stopping,
Crying but never quitting,
Pausing to rest
Never pausing to remain.
I move, everyday;
I fly, jump, run and pass hurdles
But I also have had to walk, crawl and pant.
For to move is to live.-
Being able to give belly rubs to all the puppies I meet
Being able to walk again after my surgery, enjoy the sunsets β£οΈ-
They say love is in the air,
But what about loss of love?
Does it smell like the still, sad air hung over a graveyard?
When we inhale it, does it make us cry like the pollens that dropped from the flower,
Lost children,
Lost dreams-
Lost love you say?
What if they smell like roses?
Only that the roses are dried
And you've left them on my coffin.
Maybe it's just my madness-
But what if love smelled like the old tee-shirt you left?-
A poet knows the sound of a breaking heart
A shaking breath
The murmur of life
Or,
The lullaby of death-
