Letting you go...

It's that time again when I must let you go. Your weeks of fun must come to an end. It's best I keep my toxicity to myself and allow you to go back to playing 'house'

By now you may have figured this is sarcasm or maybe it isn't. But what I do know is if you wanted to stay you wouldn't have rushed through the door the moment it became open.

Pot of Gold

Keep being contented with the rainbow and you never have the opportunity of striking gold at it's end.

Life is about these 'pots of gold' that is worth the search. You just need to figure if it's enough.

Caged

I waited two decades to have you by my side,
Did you honestly thought our love could have hide.
Please don't get me wrong I'll respect you your space,
Just enough so you can have a little taste.

I spent those years apart building a cage,
Waiting for this day so we can finally have our stage.
I opened the door and you joyfully flew through it,
Like a little birdie who's too excited to sit.

The truth here my love is I will keep watch by the door,
While you spread your wings and explore.
The door will remain open if ever you have to leave,
Just remember it's freedom and not a reprieve.

The cage was built to protect you from the world,
I heard you like being free or so I've been told.
But if my protection of you becomes overbearing,
Be sure to know it's because of me over caring.

As I lay here tonight on my bed,
The thoughts of us keep running through my head.
Today you said you loved me and always had,
I'm here thinking about it and going mad.

You're with him in bed now, I'm sure,
You left me with a confused heart to cure.
You're bring fire to my life of ice,
You scare my elephant with your tiny mice.

My heart is fragile and weak,
You stomping on it, adds to your streak.
Like a pandemic you took me by surprise,
Twenty years gone... Look how time flies.

Self Worth

Never allow your worth to be quantified by another. Your beauty comes from within.

Why should an external body be allowed to make you feel less than what you're actually worth?

Believe in yourself and let your beauty shine for the Universe to witness.

Imagine having the knowledge of someone... to an extreme of knowing them as chapters from a book...

Then you rewrite it... making their moves simulate that of your pen...

Words become Actions... Actions become Memories... Memories become Legacy.

... a finish line that keeps moving everytime I get closer to it...

But just as the rabbit never gave up it's chase for the carrot on a stick, so to i will pursue...

My Value

My value to my Employer can be represented by the salary I recieve each month.

The way my family values me is dependent on the money I give to them each month.
