Ode To My Sister Mantu
A year and a half almost, held you in arms.
Delighted to have the sisterly charms.
Sweet cries, tender voice, nimbling movements,
Happier were the family moments.
You sing like nightingale, trapping the heart,
Obsessive immaculateness like art.
Growing together you often played dead,
Slaying me like knife on bread.
My heart cries out when rage took over games,
Fighting you was my biggest shame.
I wish I could mend those times I caused you pain,
I pray that it never happens again.
Silence and egoism might've ruined few days,
Nevertheless love won the race.
Your softness and beauty I yearned to duplicate,
Thank God our looks do replicate.
Grew up protecting you in my self built cocoon,
Din't realise you evolved too soon.
Always stood tall through thick and thin,
Yet tormented deep within.
Thank you Mantu for holding on me like a pillar so strong.
I owe you my love all along.
