Social Cognitive Theory
According to the theory, people learn through their environment and by observing the behaviour of others in their surroundings. Bandura states the importance of cognition, or we can say personal dispositions, environmental conditions and behavioural attributes in social development by explaining these in reciprocal determinism and the influence they have on one another. In the PEB model, P stands for personal factors like cognitive, affective and biological factors, B stands for behaviour, and E stands for the external environment.— % &UNDERSTANDING THE CONCEPT OF SELF-EFFICACY
Self-efficacy- A central concept in this theory is self-efficacy or the belief in one's ability to succeed in a specific task.
High self-efficacy can enhance motivation & resilience.
An artist who believes in their ability and capability is likely to succeed and showcase high motivation. If an individual finds himself meeting his or her standards with self-praise and self-reward, he or she will have a strong sense of self-efficacy; otherwise, he or she will have a poor sense of the same.— % &VICARIOUS LEARNING
When we learn through the outcomes, whether it be positive or negative, of the experience of others. We always try to avoid the negative and unpleasant experiences they face. We learn vicariously by watching others' behaviour and its consequences for them. Vicarious reinforcement and punishment play an important role in the process of vicarious learning. When people see that the other person is receiving a reward for displaying a certain behaviour, it will motivate them to display the same, and if the same person is also receiving the punishment for another behaviour, people will refrain from adopting that behaviour.
Last but not least, these concepts have been used for general understanding, but they can vary from person to person.— % &-
