For a friend so dear,
Who would take away my sorrows,
For someone special,
Who loved me dearly and not just shallow,
For a friend who puts value and truth in the simple word friendship,
For that someone i waited too long,
Questioning the skies if someone would ever fill this hollow,
For a good time ihad didn't believe,
The tales of friendship is just a myth,
Secretly a small desire kept the light of hope alive,
I thanked the skies when i discovered your warmth,
your loyalty and understanding wins over my heart,
I got more that what i had asked for,
For your name is what i recall,
when anyone asks to define true friend,
Head bowed, hand folded, i will be forever grateful for having you in my life, making my wait turn into a beautiful reality indeed.

The sun to rise,
She won't flinch in the darkness of the sky,
Self assured in her light, she shines brightly,
Intently looking at those souls,
Who turn to her for some love and respite
Making sure they feel less lonely in her white

The egg hatched,
Little penguin had broken through its shell,
he took his first steps, walking away from the warmth of her mother, gliding onto the frozen land,
his eyes fixed on the blue ahead of him,
it's vastness making him harrowed,
his mother's tendered touch making him move gently towards the ocean,
encouraging him,
for she knew the greatest joy comes right after facing the fears.

Where it belongs,
keep it in your mind,
but don't let it hurt you in your heart,
learn from it, grow from it,
don't let it make you bitter, harden your soul,
leave the past in the past, for the present and the future holds much more for you and your smile, surely to make you laugh.

The timid girl,
Age of 12,
sat at her orphanage,
waiting for a loved one,
wanting to screech,
yet afraid to tell,
her life was at a standstill
she constantly felt,
she sat pondering,
sobbing, fervently praying,
not knowing a stranger would upswing her life in a while,
eventually walking her down the aisle.

Dark skinned

The day she was born,
Her big round eyes got shadowed by her tan skin,
As a child, her bright smile got suppressed by her deemed unattractive demeanor,
As a teenager, her lavishly long hair coupled with her graceful stride got neglected for a want of a better pigment,
In her young age, she was enticing with her lady like charm that nobody wanted to fall for,
Nevertheless, she was not tethered by the standards of society, she held herself with pride, believing in herself, for a mere colour of skin wasn't a mark of anyone's beauty,
She's beautiful, she will always be..holding her ground.. proving dark skinned is indeed a beautiful being.

"I cry when I see you crying"

" I know that's why I try to hide my tears from you".

The love you give,
goes in vain,
It was never necessary,
your fault you had feelings,
you joke about it, your heart cries,
lips smile, yet eyes moist,
your care was not needed,
you gave away all you had,
bowing down your head,
loser in you awake,
The only thing you can do now,
Is wish them well without any hate.

Stars aligned,
With the graceful blessings of the heaven,
the cutest dimpled girl became the prettiest ever bride,
the glow on her face,
the shy blush on her cheeks,
her elegant stride,
carrying herself with grace and pride,
the sparkle of love in her eyes,
belittled the shine of the moon in the sky,
Making the world witness a true love story unwind,
there were no man made barriers to divide,
True love had conquered all the hearts in style.

The heaven had smiled,
The time of her life was here,
God showered his blessings,
The bride to be, my sister, looked stunning in here "panetar"
She smiled, walking towards her groom,
The most awaited event unfolds,
Families reunite,
Witnessing the beginning of her journey of togetherness,
The ceremony unravels,
the sindoor on her forehead, a sign of saubhagya, the mangalsutra around her neck, a symbol of love and holy commitment,
marking her entry into the union,
Lit up Happy faces with eyes filled with tears,
the much loved daughter leaves her parents' grace,
The old age tradition continues,
What our mothers and grandmothers felt, we go through,
Yet we part ways with our loved ones,
starting a new family, making strangers our own, but not leaving our old,
Perhaps that's the power of a woman,
The strength of womanhood.
