So be mindful of Allah to the best of your ability, hear and obey, and spend in charity—that will be best for you. And whoever is saved from the selfishness of their own souls, it is they who are ˹truly˺ successful.

Surah At-Taghabun - 16

-

Those to whom people [i.e., hypocrites] said, "Indeed, the people have gathered against you, so fear them." But it [merely] increased them in faith, and they said, "Sufficient for us is Allāh, and [He is] the best Disposer of affairs."
So they returned with favor from Allāh and bounty, no harm having touched them. And they pursued the pleasure of Allāh, and Allāh is the possessor of great bounty.

Meaning of Taqwa (Piety)

It is state of the heart which can be achieved by the following:
- Believing that Allah is always present and watching,
- Creating a distinction between good and evil in the heart,
- Attraction to good & aversion to evil,
- Living according to the Creator's commandments
- Fearing Allah & Loving Him
- Doing that which Allah has enjoined and avoiding that which He has forbidden.
