It’s past midnight and I am looking
up at the sky
It’s been so long since sleep has left
my side
Now you can’t even show up in my dreams
The world seems so still;
But there is so much chaos within.
Have you ever seen a starless night? Does it scare you?
Have you wondered if there is anything beyond darkness?
Does it scare me? No not anymore
I stare at the starless sky hoping to
find a little glimmer
I try every night but in vain, yet I am
still waiting.
Have you ever felt like you have been
stranded in the middle of an ocean?
With no sight of the shore, with no
stars to guide you home,
Where you wander aimlessly having
lost all sense of time,
Waiting to be rescued or drowned.
Aren’t we all being toyed by time?
We hold the same hourglass, when
you turn yours my time ends
Do I have you in this moment only
to see you disappear in the next?
It’s strange, I see you more in my
nightmares than in my dreams
I go through all the five stages of
grief but never reach acceptance.
I can’t move on I’m stuck in time,
yet helplessly smiling.
Isn’t it scary, what a smile can hide?
