of colourful pills
that attempt to diffuse
the landmines of your mind.
But a stick as a weapon

will get you nowhere.

Don't tell me my body
isn't enough.
My heart was birthed
from the inner chasms
of the sun.
My mind has lived
a thousand lifetimes
within itself,
and many beyond
a mortal shell.
My feet have carried me
from places where
the ground beneath me shook
to ones where I can call home.

Under the moonlight
A sea of blurry faces
All I see is you

To my lover,
I am a passion project,
a broken home wreaked in debris.
To my father,
I am a reminder of his failure
as a parent.
To me,
I am nothing.

May you be loved unconditionally,
without any check boxes to tick.
