The book reveals the rigorous impact of society and its consequences, the two lovers have to go through after being departed.
It depicts the cruelty of the so called society, its norms, rules and laws. It portrays how people who are in love get deprived of their happiness and ruin their life in suffering in all forms, inwardly and outwardly. Gradually, it turns habitual for them after marrying someone else. It, in fact, gives strikingly a pictorial depiction of the plight of a woman who sacrifices her life for her husband, family, in laws, child and the same occurs in the life of a man too. Still they undergo certain kind of anguish, they are distressed. They are afraid to reveal their true self to the so called cultured and sophisticated society. In this way the story goes on portraying the suppressed reality, sorrow and suffering of a human being.
