Covered in dust, cloaked in darkness
Yet somehow felt perfect and fine.

Flickering light of the scented candles
Infusing fragrance in my caliginous room
The window panes covered with winter mist
Obscuring light, leaving the room dark and grey
I adjust my table lamp, focus the camera
A click, a shutter sound breaking the silence
As I capture this moment into the reels
Perched on the table is a letter written with red ink
In magical cursive letters and calligraphed phrases
A piece of paper which offered hope
For years uncountable, days innumerable
This letter I may destroy, the beautiful script eaten up by fire, leaving behind ashes
But this photograph, capturing the emptiness and pain of this moment,
Will always remain a souvenir
For the love which carved me into a diamond.

Drops dripping from the eves
Falling faintly onto the window panes
Tracing patterns in the mist
Returning slowly back to the earth.

High above stood the moon
Holding back the pangs of pain
Witnessing the drops falling down
From the edges of my eyes, again.

Our eyes locked
Hearts entwined
Souls entangled
Beats aligned
Doubts erased
Together we stood
Drenched in the crystal rain.

I wished for happiness
Upon the tiny little star
Crashing through the sky
I closed my eyes
And whispered my wish
All I wanted was to be happy
To have a source of strength
To keep me from falling
Into the scary depths of emptiness
A glint of light
To guide me out
Of this numbing darkness.

My wish was answered
Today I have you
Here by my side
A gift for me
From the universe
Special than a thousand fallen stars.

Your fingers traced the curves
Of the tentacles holding me together
Your eyes followed your fingertips
As they made kaleidoscopic patterns
On my paper thin skin.

I owe you my smile, my heart and my love
You stood with me, when life was grey
Betwixt the blazes of your silver charm
I found a soul, too comforting
A place where I can be myself.

Some call you the moon, inanimate, bright
For me you are the soul of the cosmos
Trapped in the flickering armour
/A long lost lover, who never really left./

Heart burning with desire
To rise above the fire
Devoid of doubts

In darkness, I wander
In search of better days.
Trapped in silence, I wonder
Is it impossible to erase the haze?

I craved for a piece of peace
And a fragment of hope
To repaint my life
To break the shackles.

And then you came as a flicker
Infusing happiness into my veins
But deep down you were burning
To protect me from the demons .

You were a candle
Burning and melting
To spread rays of glee
In my life devoid of joy.

One day you vanished
No more flames, no more embers
But I learned the trick
And I'm forever indebted

/To find light, burn bright/
