As she basked in the sunlight,
With the light caressing her skin

All she could see was the darkness,
It had crept in day by day reaching every crevice.

Staring off into nothing,
Entrapped in her mind.

What once were rivers she cried in a ball on the floor,
Became rare little quiet streams full of regret.

Her insides screamed, “Save me from myself.”
But deep down she knew there would be no one, she didn’t deserve it.

The sorrow in her seeps deep.
Into the hollow ground,
Where she weeps.
Behind every fake smile,
A thousand tears were cried.
The inside of her became volatile.

Thoughts continue to storm,
Racing against no avail,
Madness becoming the norm.
Scared? That word has no meaning.
She’d been through all her fears.
A saddened warrior is what came to be.

A burial dug, awaiting to be.
A place of mourning,
Where it becomes a finale.
