The pages of the book, just like the ones the tennant in his adjacent room likes to eat. The character's neighbour's body located deep under the swimming pool of its building, exactly the way he buried a year ago. They even share a common hallucination of a blind pet eagle. But most importantly the book ending on a note of the character being on the verge of death completing a novel similar to its life by the book eating tennant, begging to be able to see the eagle.
