Today is 191st birth anniversary of Fatima Sheikh, she was an Indian educator, who was a colleague of the social reformers Jyotiba Phule and Savitribai Phule. One of the first Muslim women teachers of modern India, she started educating Dalit children in Phule’s school.The Swadeshi Library was established in the house of Sheikh. Fatima Sheikh and Phule couple started the work of imparting education to the poor and deprived sections of the society and Muslim women. Jyotiba and Savitribai Phule along with Fatima Sheikh took charge of spreading education among the downtrodden communities. Our Tribute💐
