That little girl is here now.
And I remember the tears now
The scream, the shouting—
and finally, the loud thud of the storm.

She prayed for it to end.
Begged God to take the pain away… or him.
But when He did,
the little girl lost something.

The thoughts of what ifs, what woulds—
they haunted her.
The adults around said whatever felt right,
gave enough names,
destroyed the only saviour.

A destruction so loud,
it still lingers after years.

That little girl is here now.
Again…
