Yet again her own words kept echoing in her ears, "Nobody wants you. Nobody will ever need you."

"But why?", her little heart kept wondering.

"I'll make all your dreams come true", he said.

"You are my only dream", she said as she hugged him with her biggest smile.

When you find out that the other person has told you nothing but lies when you have been nothing but honest to them....this kind of disrespect kills you, it kills the hope in you.

Even though it had been broken so many times, after being ripped apart time and again, despite being crushed over and over....it amazed her that her heart was still beating.

Every now and then she would zone out, imagining how she wished that moment to end. Regardless of the moment, every vision ended with either her in his arms or the other way around.

The darkness never left her...no matter how hard she tried, no matter where she went, no matter how much good she did, no matter how much she achieved in life, no matter how many people were around her. The darkness was her loneliness, the only thing that made her weak.

She loved him so much! Not the "I would die without you" kind of love, but the "I want you to be happy, with or without me" kind of love.

And that's why she never told him anything about it.

Every night, before drifting off to sleep, she wished to see his message the next morning...a message confessing his irrevocable love for her.

There she lay in his arms, looking in his eyes... searching for something she knew she'll never find. So many things she wanted to tell him, so many questions she wanted to ask, so many plans and promises she wanted to make with him but she didn't utter a word. She soaked in the peace of that moment to relive it later.

"Don't say anything or you'll ruin this forever. Let him be a happy memory," the voice in her head kept telling her.




And this time she listened.
