Mirage
Each moment aflicker
like a grain of sand in the
gleaming noonday sun;
caressing every facet,
bedecking with promise,
a future of forevers
and silly conch calls;
I spy it shimmering so soft
in the distance, a silver lake;
this unforeseen blessing
trapping time in its reflections;
I hurtle toward it like a gull
in sight of its prey,
in the billows waving back;
not a second thought given.-
A poem begins
as a twisted tongue,
convulsive lung,
impassioned thumb,
with whispers of hurts
howling like a drum,
menacing mind to cede.-
Disillusioned by the pain
Seeking refuge in the rain
Blood-borne demons fierce to maim
Sanctify, sanctify
Turbid notions leave a stain
Cruel derision prodding brain
Morbid fingers cling to reign
Ratify, ratify-
Dress my pillow in satin petals,
For the drivel from your lips leaves a musky stain,
Those rosy relics rotting in my brain,
With kindred hearts of blackened kettles,
Raging furtively to meddle,
Mid the clamor of pillaged time,
Delusion drubbing shadow's mime,
As privy crime begins to settle,
O savage tides be swift to level,
For the banks are sure to sieve.-
Never let the storm extinguish your light,
For it's your light which inspires a rainbow.-
'Pon the docile resplendent bloom
Mere innocence bears its charms
Refulgent are such eyes of wonder
In bewitchingly baneful arms
Scorn dribbling down its roots
Woe scouring out the scars
Marred petals mourning one by one
Beseeching heart's valiant stars-
