Strip me down
mind, body and soul,

Self-Love becomes Self-Destruct the older I become.
It is only a matter of time
until the damage is
all anyone will
remember of me.

I lack confidence within myself which is why I have no roots planted,

no solid foundation to build a stable future,

no level headed mind to see the decisions I make have led me nowhere.

Where do I belong?

Words cut and divide,
wound and destroy,
and I have felt such pain inflicted by those who 'love' me.

Love kills.

I was born to die, oh, so easily.

Love kills and you left me in an unmarked grave.

Growing Older:

'Father Time,
be gentle with my coming of Age.'

This soul I attempt to keep begs for release,

I am nothing but a withered puppet for Death.

This bag of bones I carry weighs too much,

I am nothing but a caretaker for this body.

Time marches on,
and an unwilling soldier such as I,
slowly stumble behind.
