Came sparks of realisation -
How tears are not enough,
To make pain disappear again. Realisation came on cat's feet,
While pondering over a broken vase,
How nobody will ever overlook,
A mistake committed by an adult.
Realisation came unwaveringly,
Sighing at butterflies and birds -
The little wings of dreams and hobbies,
Which have long been reduced to dust...

A muse you are, high above;
Winged angels sing praises of whom,
Victorious, at someone else's doom...

Druzy on a silver wire,
A single lock of hair,
In the company of diamonds
And rubies and sapphires...

Life feels too long now,
In spite of the constant whines -
"Life is too small!"

What do I do now that I'm dead inside?
What do I do now that I've lost sight?
What do I do now that I have no idea what is wrong and what is right?

যে দিকেই তাকাই,
আবছা সব মানুষ,
আবছা ঘড়ির দৌড়।

দুয়ার খোলা থেকেও বন্ধ,
দৃষ্টি সীমাবদ্ধ,
হাত বাড়িয়ে ধরব বলেও,
কুয়াশা পেলাম শুধু।

Feeling of being in Elysium,
An Elysium where making love is not frowned upon,
An idyll where I kiss your fears away,
And you scream out, but never in pain,
The fine line between pain and pleasure, disappears into the ether...

Candles burned out,
But not pheromones;
Champagne flutes clinked,
And tongues too.

Time flew by,
But not love;
Thoughts scattered,
And clothes too...

প্রশ্নের উত্তর দাওনি আমার,
অজুহাত দিয়েছ অনেক;
মন কেমনের কথাগুলো তাই
তলিয়েছে চোখের জলে।

কতবার দোষী সাব্যস্ত করলে,
করলে কত তিক্ত ব্যবহার,
তার প্রতিবাদে চিঠি-ও লিখেছিলাম,
তবে, পাঠানো হয়নি আর।

আজ এত বছর বাদে, শেষবার
আলোয় মেলে ধরে চিঠিটা,
ফেলে দিলাম শীতে ঝরা পাতায় -
দুর্বোধ্য মনে হল শব্দ সবকটা।
