•Stains on the tricolor•
My country celebrates its 78th independence,
With the stain of horrendous crimes and violence.
Even when she covers herself with a drape,
Her safety escapes, for she's a woman in a fragile shape.
"Har Ghar Tiranga" is what they proudly say,
But I hear stories of minors being raped at home each day.
It's not right for girls to roam at night,
Alas, she couldn't escape her father's watchful sight.
The tricolor flag is hoisted for the 78th time,
With the saffron color symbolizing crime?
Or white signifying false prophets enchanting Ram's name in deceit?
Or green representing educational scams like NEET?
A doctor she was, a savior by profession,
But born in a country of suppression,
where corruption has no pause,
and safety is sold to the hands of blind laws.
Leaving me wondering, what to blame & whom to defame,
It's Independence Day, I say it with shame.
My textbooks read that the Ashok Chakra represents progress,
But my country strides with muted freedom and silence on violence.

Not a bird who has wings, just a fragile leaf which falls to fly.

•Distanced Love•
It's okay if we can't live under one roof,
because we could still breathe under one sky.
It's okay if we can't drown in each other's eyes,
because we could still swim in each other's thoughts.
It's okay that we've distanced ourselves,
because our hearts now know how to travel.-

Somedays,
I'm a caged bird with beautiful wings,
and other days I'm a freed bird with broken wings.

on the path where it had left
failing to realize that
it's like the sun,
it never rises from where it sets-
