Every cloud has a silver lining. So did 2020. It all started with us being excited to enter 2020, a year which had to be different and special and indeed it was. Different for everyone special for few. But you know everything has an end so did 2020. It's time to start this year with something fresh, forgetting the past but remembering it's lessons, remembering its gratefulness to let us survive. Well, in that case, have the importance of women's choices ever considered important to date? I recently came across a very interesting thing named SWAYAMVAR. Swayamvar in ancient India was a practice in which a girl of marriageable age chose a husband from a group of suitors. Women marrying men of their choice, getting trained in archery and other forms of art and also getting educated was a practice from the ancient times. But this so-called "Progressive World" still doesn't value women, their choices and doesn't understand their importance. Till date, several girls are forcefully married to men whom they barely know, they are deprived of any skills and education. Is this what is known as a Progressive world?? Development of a Nation lies in the Evolution and development of the people. Develop your attitude towards the other half of the population, give them opportunities and see the Progress the world sees.
