When we first met, I brought you 1 kg of jasmine tea in a beautiful box. You love tea and it was the perfect present. So perfect that it has outlasted us.
Last night, over text, you told me that there’s more than half of it still left and you and your mother are eyeing for the pretty box to get empty. I texted you, “It’s like me.” Even after our end, I’m still lurking in your life, with lesser hope and more acceptance. You didn’t respond to my somewhat provocative message. As usual, you left the conversation and went to sleep.
If you had continued the conversation, I’d have asked if: “More than half of it is left because it was too much or because you didn’t like it as much?” I should thank you for not continuing the conversation because I could guess your reply: “Both. I don’t like it as much because it’s too much.” And I would have replied: “I was right. It’s like me.”- हर्ष स्नेहांशु
