रातों को सपनों में आती थी मेरी
ऐसा लगता था मानो
कुछ कहना चाहती हो मुझसे
पूरे दिन खोजता रेहता था मैं उसे
पर फिर जा कर मेरे नींदो में मिलती थी
कुछ बाकी रह गया था कहना उससे
बैठ कर सोचता हूं कि काश कह देता मैं उससे
एक पल काश मुलाकात का मांग लिया होता
एक पल जी भर के देख लिया होता
एक पल उसके कंधे पर सिर टिकाये रो लिया होता
मगर  फिर अपने दिल को समझाता हूँ
कि सपने तो सपने होते हैं
और ये कभी पूरा नहीं होते.

लोग पूछते है सोते क्यूँ हो इतना
मैं उन्हें कैसे बताऊ की
सुकून तो मुझे वही मिलती 
क्यूंकि वो मुझे अपनी लगती है
रोज सोचता हूँ कि आज
उससे पूछ ही लेता हूँ कि
तुम मेरी क्या लगती हो
पर उसकी मुस्कराहट मुझे
बातें करने कहां देती 

और फिर सुबह हो जाता 
फिर खुदको समझाता हूँ कि सपने
सपने होते और
ये कभी पूरे नहीं होते...
