Hate is less hurtful than indifference
Love the only dressing of a bleeding heart

Poet and artist
I don't know about grace or work for it,
I just serenade the breeze strumming the sky,
Some notes banter with me and I hum back,
Against the stark blue my wings of freedom birth a song,
I don't care about its melody but I sing,
Within my span I scan the green Earth,
A poet isn't aware I know of the scribed verses,
Nor the artist about the strokes brushed capturing my supple wings.

On a rosy dawn, leave not the thorny stalk in my delicate palm,
And tell me that every day is rose day, even as I wilt away, trying to be calm.

Mind clock

Yesterday
A thousand heartbeats away
Today they still promise to stay
Tomorrow is just another day
Watching time slip with a sun ray

Sun too low

It's not that clouds cover her silvery light,
It's just that eyes are on a higher ground out of sight,
And the sun way too low for the night,
And the moon imagines it's not really that bright.

The neem of your words have left the sweetness of its fruit on my tongue,
But don’t imagine you are the zephyr that wisps through that tree in my backyard .
For I am the sandal tree clinging to your roots waiting for my fragrance to be offered .

Drenching

Petrichor tickles my nose
My eyes become the petals of a flower whose name I cannot remember any more,
They water themselves as if they are drenched in the first rain they ever felt,
Trickling down my stem , my spine that keeps me talking to the elements,
I look around breathing my aura and my fragrance ,
And many like me bat eyelids drenching themselves in the pouring rain.
I’m not the only one crying, but spilling tears of fulfilment .

Show me beauty I want to shut my eyes to,
Internalized like a mirror in my soul,
Never to fade although the sun does every dusk,
And a soft voice echoed in my heart,
“ Look within yourself as eternity blooms,
A perfect picture before you in creation looms “.

Diamond ring

Darkness leaves a diamond ring of remorse,
Crawling with shadows in an orbital course,
A bond in time and distance of an unseen force,
While light in my eyes remain trapped beyond its source,
And the world revels in an eclipse viewed from a myriad shores.

The cleansing

What could heavens do other than cry for this earth,
In torrents of briny clouds cleansed since their birth,
As they tear open the sky ripping them in streaks of lightning,
Letting tears flow from eyes in their light blinding and scarring,
But water cleanses water just how silences cleanses words,
In the end poets lose their verses to selfless tunes of songbirds.
