Today I thank God for the gift of words,
For the ability to churn words like a sword and cut through uneven curves.
Words powerful enough to unlock any door,
Words powerful enough to make the strongest heart go soft and the faintest mind grow tough.
Words like a fairy's dust sprinkled upon us lead us to our destinations,
As we sojourn through the Genesis and Exodus of life,
Words are kept alive in our hearts and minds.
As a shining light,
Alas, words are enough.

Your association plays an important role in your journey. So be careful who you associate with because everyone has a journey but not everyone is headed in your direction.

As a Nigerian I've heard the word
Freedom, so many times that I've forgotten to take note, noting down has become too cumbersome
Coz, I'm reminded that my vote
May not count, so why bother to voice out.

Freedom is to me is like an illusion
Once stolen by our colonial masters
Now deprived by our kin slave masters
The only freedom I have is not in speech but in my words
Words from my poems

My poetic license is my armour that can't be seized
My arsenal that can't be defeated
My weapon that shoots and is never amiss
I'm free at home in my poetic room
At peace with my thoughts and words

For freedom lies in the pen and paper of a Nigerian man, so cheers to freedom we've never seen
Cheers to freedom only written down
Cheers to freedom we may one day see
Cheers to freedom that we may also miss
Cheers to freedom resounded in history.

Treasure it for
as long
as you
have it

On love till
Both die
Let your name be
My earnest redial
To ride
To die
Yet, dry bones rise— % &

I saw a star once
It winked once
I closed my eyes
And opened it
It winked twice
Then I knew it wasn't my mind
Playing dirty on me
This star was calling me
With all shades of bling
I'm a twinkle little star
I shine brighter— % &
