I thought I loved you.
So I spoke to the moon in the night,
like a loving grandmother, she kissed my forehead
And forewarned me
An image of you scurried across my mind,
and she whispered, not tonight.-
Music Box
Just for me, your song plays,
in the whispers of golden sunflowers as I lay in their flower beds.
It's in the low hummed tune of the lilac hummingbird as he extracts sweet nectar for the day's meal.
Just for me, your song plays in the tides of the ocean, so I hunt for conch shells to capture the echos.
I want to save each sight and sound so that I may play them in my sleep. And when the songs commence, I will see you in my dreams.

Wild
Her image, her wildness, and disarrayed clothes did not dim her light.
She shined brilliantly before the Lord, not seeing her through the eyes of judgment but eyes of tenderness.
She brought what she had, and in her heart, she knew that it was enough.
She was enough.
She is enough.
Shells in hand, she approached him, ignoring the laughter of her peers. Placing them gently in his hands, and as she let go, the ocean waters surrounded them.
They sang and swayed notes of gratitude to her for seeing the beauty within them.
And he blessed the shells rearranging them into a crown. With a firm softness, he crowned her as a beautiful, lovely, accepted part of divinity.
In her tattered clothes, she stood head held high.
With her burgundy lips parted and sang, I am enough because I am you dirty and disheveled. I am loved unconditionally by him. My father sees me for who I am.-
Masquerade
I’ve danced this dance with you before,
this intricate ballad full of chaos and delight.
Back then, we were so mesmerized by our visions of each other that we refused to see
See who we were.
We draped ourselves in disguises so masterful that we became blinded by lust.
No trust, in ourselves, or confidence each other.
But I see you now, and as I do, the steps change, leading me away from you and back again.
You walk forward,
I Sidestep, twirl giving you one last glance.

Gallantly it sways on the breath of the ocean currents.
Lightly dusting the sandy floor with its velvet belly,
breathing in the water’s oxygen like joy and exhaling love.
It is the butterfly of the sea.

Divine Sugar
This phenomenal organ was bound to me at birth; it covers every simple curve to the delicate jawlines on my face.
It is alive this organ of mine,
alive and screaming with colors, red undertones run to my cheeks with every laugh.
It glistens, this skin of mine is sun-kissed and sparkling with blessings and power that will never be devoured by another.-
Sweet and dear you are to me.
Gentle as an evening breeze,
adorned and cared for
wanted and loved.

Let it Be
Lead me into the sparkling forest,
let my feet touch the mossy ground,
and feel your heartbeat reverberating through my soles.
Remove my clothes
and wrap me in the sweet smell of hyacinths,
let each petal blow airy kisses against my skin.
Give me the keys God to this sacred space, let it be my home, my refuge from hard days.
Let me play amongst the plump fruit trees.
Let them be so pleased with me that they offer me their golden sap.
Grinning at the blessing of your trees my lips part taking in the sweet juices, renewing my heart, with each gulp.
So lead me, and I will follow you,
for wherever you are abundance follows.-
From the Shadows
The hands are rough around my neck and limiting my air intake, as I began to forfeit the fight, a light appears around us.
Quickly it retreated and something warm and filled with love snatches me from my captor's home, returning me to the surface but I know it won't be long before its return.
Because I know as well as anyone that neither the light nor my abductions will last forever.

From the Shadows
It emerges from the shadows of the alley and drags me deep into its lair.
Then wrestles me to the icy ground as it rests its knees into my chest, lest I try to wiggle free its scaly cloaked hands wrap tightly around my throat.
I scream for help, but no one hears me or worse, they choose not to listen to my wails.
