വേനലിന്റെ കൊടുംവറുതിയിൽ വെന്തെരിഞ്ഞ മണ്ണും വിണ്ണും കണ്ണുംനട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന മഴമേഘങ്ങളെ
നിർദാക്ഷിണ്യം തട്ടിയകറ്റുന്ന കാറ്റിനോട്,
ഇരുളൊഴിയാത്ത മഴദിനങ്ങളിൽ കാർമേഘങ്ങളെ നോക്കി
പരിഭവത്തോടെ പിൻവാങ്ങുന്ന കാറ്റിന്റെ കുസൃതിയോട്,
ഇടിയിരമ്പങ്ങളിൽ കാതുപൊത്തി അമ്മമടിയ്ക്കുള്ളിൽ ഓടിയൊളിക്കുന്ന കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളോട്,
ആർപ്പുവിളികളോടെ കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ക്രിക്കറ്റ് മാച്ച് അമ്മയുടെ ശകാരം കേട്ട് നിർത്തിവച്ചു
മ്ലാനമൂകരായി കസേരകളിൽ കൂനി കൂടിയിരിക്കുന്ന യുവതകളോട്,
പെയ്തുതീരാത്ത മാനം നോക്കി പരിഭ്രമത്തോടെ വെള്ളം തേവുന്ന ഒരു കൂട്ടം മൻഷന്മാരോട്,
