مینے دیکھے ہیں بہاروں میں خذاں کے پتتے
پھول ڈالی سے الگ بیٹھے ہوئے حیران پتتے
جانے کس نے چھینی انسے سیاروں کی مہک
جابجا بکھرے ہوئے، اُڑتے ہوئے حیران پتتے
جانے کس سمت سے آئی مہکتی سی ہوا
سولی سے خود ہی اُتر آئے یہ بےجان پتتے
يا تو کچھ انمیں، بیبس سے ہوئے نذرِ آتش
یا تو پھر مٹی میں ملکے ہوئے ہرجا پتتے۔۔.
