One night..
When the dark was all that surrounded me..
I indulged in a fight..
With myself to be let free...
It was then that I fell from tremendous height..
And broke my wings, a crippling sight to see...

All the chaos around me now went quiet..
But it felt like just another bruise to my knee..
Little did the others know it was indeed a moment bright...
For I could finally just be somebody I always wanted to be..
No longer did i have to live under a mountain of absolute fright...
For the scar was my new found freedom, my escape key...
With the wings I shed away the weight of always having to be right...
And instead of flying over it, I finally found shade under the contentment tree...
