Left behind lingering
beautiful memories,
enduring legacies
and answered prayers.
Gone, yet very much around.
Left without a say,
opening a void begging
to be filled.
Gone too soon.

without water, covering
without comradery.
Gone for another year.
Void still present,
wishes keep piling on,
no end in sight.

Life is too complex
and cumbersome
for any man
to claim mastery of it.

Our sense of control
is daily ridiculed
by life and her kids,
yet our ego wouldn't
let us come down from
our high horse,
acknowledging that
only God has control.

From the unwelcome monthly
visitor, she has to stomach monthly,
to the ravaging hormones that colonize
her mind every now and then,
making her act as mad as March Hares.
She has to endure all of them, that
she might carry a child and lose her
hourglass body, with a chance that
she may kick the bucket
in the labour room.
Oh! No end to her trouble,
her child robbed her of her rest,
leaving her with a bitter sweet taste,
yet her love for her child is unparalleled.
Nothing can come between her love
for the child she poured blood on.
Motherhood - lifetime sacrifice.

How will the world - without her?
She gives colour to life,
she is the beauty of nature
the first wonder, man beheld.
Her hands are always open,
her heart is always caring,
her smile is a blessing,
her love is devotion,
her mind is simple,
yet so complex.
She is a woman,
she is God's masterpiece,
the completion of humanity.
