" Somewhere I Left Me "
Crayon skies and muddy toes,
Laughter in lines that no one knows.
The scent of rain on fresh new books,
A world of wonders, in every look.
Fights that healed before the bell,
Pending homeworks
Evening tuition, Maggi break,
9:30 sleep, no thoughts to keep,
Only stories and cartoons before we’d sleep.
Now—
Silence weighs behind each smile,
Bills to pay, and roles to play,
Smiles rehearsed for one more day.
Friendships lost in unread texts,
Love unsure of what comes next.
Crowded minds and aching hearts,
A thousand wounds we never heal.
And sometimes late at night, I yearn,
For chalk-stained hands and lessons learned.
For simpler days, when I was me
Before the weight of who I’m supposed to be.-
Don't Want To Know More About You.
If You Smile At Me I Will Grin From Ear To Ear☺.
