For the things i did,
and for the things i didn't!
Lamenting over the things..
that I did,
thought of doing
and left undone!

My right had a block,
Left had a two or three,
And scattered all over;
Were scores of them more.
That's what it was all about when,
I fumbled to speak,
And stumbled to walk.

I feel like i botched it up,
They call me an extrovert;
But little do they know
There's a constant fear gnawing me up;
A constant fear which was a nightmare,
That came to be true.
And in an attempt to be the perfect one for them
I lost myself.

Blocks were then,
Anxiety, overthinking and
Procrastinating is what it is now,
I stacked up the blocks to make a building earlier,
Now i stack these to create an emptiness within me.

कौन लिखता है खत आजकल?
व्यंग्य कर, पूछते है लोग मुझसे,

कह दिया मैंने भी कल,
पूछो उससे जो सितलहर हो या तप,
परिवार से दूर,
हम सबके परिवार की रक्षा कर रहा है।।
पूछो उससे जिसके घर,
कल महीनों बाद,
उसकी कुशलक्षेम का खत आया है।
पूछो उससे खत का महत्व,
जो सरहद पर तैनात है।।

गुलाब में काटें होते है,
इससे हम सब वाक़िफ हैं,
लेकिन काटों के बिना चुभे निकालना,
एक गुल फरोश ही सही से कर सकता हैं।

हीरे जवाहरात की असली परख,
सिवाए जोहरी के,
किसी के बस की न बात हैं।
पूछो उस कबाड़ी वाले से,
मोल लेगा वो कीमत,
उन खतों की,
जिसे एक शायर ने अमूल्य कहकर,
मोतियों की माला की तरह पिरोकर,
महफूज़ रखा हैं उस संदूक में।।

It's been years,decades or millennium,
Since when it's a merry merry Xmas,
And a happy happy birthday;
Ever wondered why isn't it the other way?
A big No!

The only response,
When I forcibly ask you to think over it,
Would be,
"You never question,
Why the sun comes up at dawn,
And sets down at dusk.
It's been passed this way, since ages;
Then why complicating mere things?"

To which, my only answer would be,
"We never question creation,
Neither it is meant to be questioned.
So why not break the barriers which we can,
And be an odd,
Which we fear to be,
And make a difference."

Seeing your parents smile over your success.

The blue skies and the vacant coarse paths,
The greens and the lilies,
The sun that glimmers above,
Stabilizes me within;
And that is where I find my happy place.

The flock of the bubbles that go up and up
And burst even with a gust of wind,
The pink coloured candy floss circled around a wooden stick;
Is what makes me a happy me.

The sight of the cloudy night,
That plays hide and seek with the moon.
The peek a boo game with a naive
Is where my heart finds itself.

You see it is rightly said,
"All that glitters is not gold"
But what if I say,
"It is not only gold that has to be the instance forever for the word 'glitter'?"
Would you believe?
If not!
The above lines need be read a gazillion times more.

People lose their life, the same way.
Yet the cycle doesn't stops here.
New leaves appear signifying new life.

Remember,
the leaf of life belongs to a deciduous tree.
And not to an evergreen tree.
Seasons will come and go,
People will come and go,
But life won't stop.
