It wasn't just a red, it was crimson,
And I painted it green in submission.
Charming in the attite, wickedness in the soul,
Needed a clever mind to see past its goal.
I was warned by many, detailed by a few,
But I shove it all off and coloured anew.
The charm remained but the veil subsided,
Alas! time ran up it it only remained to be dreaded.
I don't paint them green anymore
But veils don't last and often comes to the shore
Time has distanced some who stood by
And I wish them wings to soar in the sky

Acknowledged you the first time we met
Kind and gentle, got to know you but I was a little late
Ashes are what I gave you next, maybe it was fate
Some days I missed the smiles that you left
Hurriedly I picked all that up, knowing , I'd have been happier if I kept

Time flowed and in one morning when I was wrapped up in thoughts
Hope, I knew had long unwrapped itself and gone
Eventually I left a last note
Reciprocated, I smiled, I hope you find your name in quotes

In tiptoes it came,
A friend, bearimg no name,
'Hi', it said,
And cluelessly I walked along with grace.

It weren't starry or moonlit nights,
Words just flowed and drowned the common sights,
Soon after, the talks turned into lessons,
Which were held in alternate sessions.

I was unaware of the gift in christmas,
Unwrapped it later, thinking it fictitious
It gave the joy of a hundred waves,
Smoothly touching my feet in brief sandy engraves.

From sea shells to full moon nights,
A song got weaved like concert lights,
A memory as this, as sweet as waffles,
Has been kept in the heart, unshuffled.

Perhaps it was Destiny
Reading the story of a soul
Amidst the chaos and melancholy
Time has brought thee as foretold
I thank you, Kindness, for your company, but,
Must your lantern be lit in the cold?
Absence of which, doesn't bother your wall painted home.
Around I saw
Nothing else but another destined soul
Said," smile with me"
"Hope I can teach you to be bold"
Unanimously, Delight and Wanderer agreed on lessons to be told

I wish it weren't true
The nights dripping in blue
What you said had the darkest hue
So old but seemed so new

Over painted walls
Over small yellow lights
Over coloured paper ribbons
Wrapped in a home of smiles

I miss it now
I miss it in a while
But tears blinded by satire
Won't return it with a smile

It all started with a Hi
Perhaps the stars have other plans for thy
Keeping the good memories alive
I bid the friendship goodbye

Life isn't about what it does to you but what you do to it

You tossed it on my dark matress
Yellow and white on a floral printed mess
Picking it up, I held it low
Unaware of the tears about to flow

Five young petals blooming bright
Placed on the bed, keeping it aside.
Rushing to the balcony in the faint afternoon light,
Watched the road, deserted for the night.

The next morning, I woke up in a haze,
For it was pouring down in a phase.
Five petals on my palm,
Smiling to its scent, I felt its charm.

Playing a song I had never played before
Saw two petals shrivelling towards the core.
Played the memories in my head
It's the little things that make tears shed.

The third morning had to be cozy & warm
For each petal had a brownish charm.
I took a notebook, turning to a page,
Scribbled down words in a haste.

Five days had caught me in a net
For I had been reminiscing over and over again.
Placing it inside a notebook didn't take long
For you don't miss it untill it's gone.

You ask, you ask and you ask again
Searching the memories without any pain
Untill you halt at a lovely lane
Which makes you ask, 'what just happened?'

I've met more personalities than people themselves. You meet the good ones and you meet the bad ones and even though people aren't entirely good or bad, sometimes you meet people who are good to you in the beginning but change bitterly with the season. And then there're people who you would call a 'mean cookie' at first but realize their warmth in the cold. And though I've not met the latter, I can't do anything but to walk out as pleasantly as I had walked in with the former.
Because when they have their cups filled with bottomless pride for themselves and when their words clash against their very own, you can't do anything but to loosen your grip on the memories of the past which you hold dear, or, should you?

Sometimes, what we miss is the habit and not the person

The past Nine years
Have been driving me into tears
Of sadness, of joy
Coz I met you dear boy
From exchanging cards to exchanging hearts
From staring at you to being stared at by you
Lovely were the days gone in haste
But we did tell each other to do our best
You promised me a ring and I promised you a heart
Gone are the days we missed the other apart
Nine years and we've grown up so much
But my love for you haven't decreased as such
