इक शाम सुहानी सी
मेरे सामने जब ढलती है
लगता है तनहा है
अपने ही सवालों में जलती है

नाराज़गी के हल्के
गुलाबी रंग छोड़ जाती है
उसकी फीकी गर्मी में
मासूम शिकायतें सुलगती हैं

“पकशीयैं की चहचहारो में
बनते बिगड़ते कामों में
अचानक रुकावट
मैं ही क्यों बनु?

सूरज का अपना आकार
चांदनी तो खुद है उधार
इन दोनों के बीच
मैं ही क्यों पिसुन?

पल भर क्यों रुकुन?
मैं ही क्यों जलुं?
काम बंद करने का इशारा,
मैं ही क्यों करूं?

बहुत हुए काम
घर जाओ करो आराम
छोटे बड़े फैसले
मुझसे क्यों पड़े?”

कभी गरमी के साथ
कभी सर्दियों के लिए
हर बार
खुद को मैं ही क्यूं बदलुं?”

Passing smiles and making hay,
Dropping flowers along the way. 🍃
Spreading sweet fragrance wherever I go,
Lifting spirits of everyone, gay or low.

Slight hop in my step like a little girl,
Petal by petal, let those emotions unfurl.
I’d be humming a merry tune,
One that reminds of sun and the moon. 🌚🌞

Put the soft pink ribbons in my hair, 🎀
Careless mentions of days with no care.
The frock swaying with every hop,
Shoes squeaking ‘clip clop, clip clop’.

Lighting every face in the vicinity,
Sharing blessings as if from holy trinity. ⛪️
Looking at familiar happy faces as I go,
Sun shining behind their heads like halo. 😇

I’d be that flower girl everyday for a week
Pick up again, next and every week.

हम अपने पैरों पे खड़े होना सीख गए।
गम कुछ ऐसे दीए ज़माने ने,
हम खुदसे प्यार करना सीख गए।

सारे खेल सिर्फ बच्चों के लिए?

बड़ों का क्या भरोसा,
वो तो भावनाओ से भी खेल लेते हैं।

not having spoken to that friend in years,
(sometimes remembering their birthday at a later date in the month)
Hearing their favorite quote, smiling

We all grew up...
