एक जरिया ही मुस्कान है क्या हंस रही है जिंदगी,
रास्ते हैं कई फिर क्यों, तूफान समझ बैठी है जिंदगी,
सांसें माथे पर पसीने की शिकन से लड़ियां बिछा रही,
रूठूं कल से फिर क्यों, हैरान समझ बैठी है जिंदगी,
पूछो उनसे जो हर सुबह उठ कर भी उठ नहीं पाते,
ठहरा है जहां और, आसमान समझ बैठी है जिंदगी,
एक प्रेम कथा पढ़ी हो या दोस्ती की गाथा लिखी हो,
जो चुप है तो क्या, बईमान समझ बैठी है जिंदगी,
जो बारिश का डर है तो धूप में भी छांव है जिंदगी,
एक पल भी हंसे जो लगेगा फिर, मुस्कान समझ बैठी है जिंदगी!

How does the dam survive the hot sun mostly standing still yet looks so mesmerizing? Is it fear of getting washed away or the happiness of being there, makes it's life worth living? Waiting for the rain and ignoring the snow, driving in the water but flowing with the flow, all those tiny leaves settling in the shore tries to talk to the wind  and all the colourless flowers roam here and there makes nature look so prettier that we humans just run towards it, not very easily but passing through the huge crowd while in parallel getting targeted by angry winds. Sunsets are like one of the most rare and beautiful brides who shines when everyone is there yet disappears from within when no one is there.

To do the needful is to accept the consequences, the path of truth is. But what are those bubbles of life available for just sending the bouquet of desire into the corner of heart and keeping it aside? Seems like all the imaginary butterflies in the ribbon and gorgeous dishes on the plate, are not meant to be served as we pass two or three or many more steps at a time and sometimes even slowly consciously taking one step at a time. Ignoring the deep vibes accepting the consistency is ok sometimes just like listening to the music still feeling the calmness and happiness through the tune of flute without even uttering a single word.

ये रात उतरती है इस दिल में या दिन बस चढ़ रहा,
गलियों में रास्ते हैं या बस धूल अपनी ओर बढ़ रहा,
कतरा कतरा सजा है बस्ती में बसा हर इक मंजिला,
कुछ तरफ अंधेरा हो कर भी रंग बिरंगा शाम कर रहा,
वादियों में समंदर ने भी यूं बादलों को आंख भरके देखा,
हर कोई यहां आ कर इस जहां में, एक नाम कर रहा,
वो एक धुन जो हर दफा कानों से रुह को निखारती है,
शिद्दत से वक्त के साथ हर कोई अपना एक गान कर रहा,
दर्द या खुशी हो, छुपा या बता रहे हो, जो लहजा हो,
देखो जरा चारों ओर मुस्कान ही मुस्कान भर रहा!

किनारे की रेत राहों पर धुआं का कहर ढाते हैं,
वो दवा भी है जो दुआओं संग रहकर ठहर जाते हैं,
साफ आसमान बिना चांद का सजा है दिन में,
हरियाली धरा पे हो या छत तक, यूं बिखर जाते हैं,
पल मानो बारिश की छींटों की तरह पार कर रहा,
वो हवा का सफेद धुआं खिड़की से भी उतर जाते हैं,
पहचान रहे असली नकली की परख रखते रखते,
भोला मन विचार करते करते उसमें संवर जाते हैं,
कोई खुशी हो, कोई रंजिश हो या कोई भी वक्त अभी,
बस थोड़ी इंतजार की बात है, आखिरकार गुजर जाते हैं!

हवा के दस्तक दिखा कर
आगाह करती है
बिना तकल्लुफ लिए चुपचाप बंद हो जाने को,
कुछ अचानक खुली आंखों को यूं चुभाकर एकाध बार,
फिर पूरा आसमा दिखाकर शांत
मन सा सुकून भर देती है!

ऊंची ऊंची दीवारों में हजार दीयों सी रौशनी है,
बिना चांद के भी आसमा आज चांदनी चांदनी है,
ये रात गहरी नींद सी खुली आंखों से सजी है,
टिप टिप बूंदें बादल से राहों में तालाब सी चासनी है,
हवाओं में धुंआ धुआं उठा है बिना किसी चूल्हे का,
हरे पत्तों से सजी आधी इमारत में जैसे कोई मालिनी है,
बरामदा, खिड़कियां, सारा जहां शांति का शोर जमा रहा,
फिर भी बादलों के पीछे छुपा सुकून भरा चांद सुहासिनी है,

कोई कविता पढ़ता है, कोई टिप्पणी करता है,
यही है जिंदगी, राहों पर फूल रख कांटों में चलाना,
जकड़कर बारिश बादलों को, ऊपर ठहरा हुआ है,
हैरत है! धरातल में अचानक से समंदर का बहाना,
अपनी मर्जी से बेबुनियाद करने लगा है लागू नियम,
खुद तोड़ रहे हर पल हर नियम, बने जा रहे काफिराना,
खयाल बिखर कर, एक नया ख्वाब बन जाता है,
वक्त कहां है कि कुछ समझे, कुछ करे ये जमाना!

The bitterness of some drops of rain in the eyes make me realise that just like the salt water from sea can't be used for drinking, just like the immediate kept faith gets shattered, just like the tiny stone pricked the smallest finger, that moment is unavoidable. It just seems like all these continuous tiny raindrops are sign of fake talks about something bigger getting dropped.
What is more scary? Too much of selfishness or The silence of the walls and the noise of continuous whistle of seems like some insect, The place we call it where peace is more expected.

जब बूंदे बारिश की हवाओं संग
मिल खिड़की से पास आती है,
अरसे बाद गर्मी से तप रहे
इस जहां में फिर से सांस आती है,
फिर तो ना ही शांत ना ही
तूफान भरे आसमा से डर लगता है,
ना जाने कितने सपने यूं
खुली आंखों से दिखा शहर लगता है,
वो गांव में ठहरा वो घर जो
हर त्योहार शुरू से सब संग मनाया,
खैर इस साल भी चेहरे पे
खुद ही सही, गुलाल होली में लगाया,
जो सोचा था कि सब सही है बिना सच में सोचे
लेकिन आशीष तो चल गई,
खुशियों की ढूंढ में अंधेरा था थोड़ा
समय की आतिश तो जल गई,
