When I was no longer a lover
rather a possession to behold
in your eyes
then to tie our loose ends
your proposal was to be friends

out of that window
anticipating you.
Then I find you smiling
at a distance as if
you have found your
merry place.

I distanced myself for the better
but inked our half done romance
on the walls of the streets
