கடலோடு கடலாய்,
அலையோடு அலையாய்,
மகிழ்ச்சி என்னும் படகில்,
கடலின் ஆழத்தை அறியாத பறவையாய்,
கடல் மேல் கொண்ட அளவற்ற அன்பால்,
தன் உயிரை பொருட்படுத்தாமல்,
துன்பங்களையும் பாராமல்,
வாழ்க்கையின் மேல் கொண்ட காதலால் - தன்
சுயநலத்தை பாராமல் ஆனந்தமாய் பறக்கிறது!
ஆனால் இவ்வுலகமோ - அதன்
மறு முகத்தை வெளிப்படுத்த,
அமைதி என்னும் கரையை
தேடி சிறகடிக்க துடிக்கிறது - அந்த பறவை!
அதனால்தான் என்னவோ,
'அதன் மனதை கல்லென நினைத்தார்களோ???'
அவ் எண்ணம் ஈடேற, மகிழ்ச்சி நிலைக்க,
முழுமனதாய் பெயர் சூட்டி கொண்டேன்
