A muffled dream
I don't come with a wand in hand,
But with roses for you, when you make your way shoving me away.
I don't intend gain, a gentle refusal shall do me fine.
I wish, I had a tiara to show the world- the princess that I am!
A glitzy dress like the girl in banners.
All I have is my brother, Ryan
who turned three, a week before.
The only gift,my parents had happily left for me.
So I dream big: a meal for him, every night.
That big guy, down the lane helps us
with some bread and eggs,
"Lord, save the kind soul", I say.
He is a funny man, plays with his fingers
all over my body when no one's around.
I laugh and cry, I don't know why.
Ryan is asleep now.
I counted the day's coins,
and closed my eyes hugging him tight.
The princess had embraced yet another day, she smiled.
The roses lay beside, as the falling stars shined.

A beggar isn't always seeking money,
A sailor isn't always headed for the shore,
A robin may not always chirp in the autumns,
A child through the window pane, not always nag for presents.
Care, freedom, attention and love:
put them in any order above,
And you might realise why it's not always the obvious choices which we look for,
are our answers.
-
They masquerade behind sweet smiles
and flattering words,
Seeking for profits in every accords.
As the going gets tough,
All they do is scorn and laugh.
So, hug them often, and love them more,
whispering in their ears- Life isn't such a whore!

Mom: "I can't have so much, I am full.
You should have the rest"
For more than twenty years now,
You prove how love needn't be
expressed always.
-
No, time doesn't heal us.
It's just that,
We learn the art of choosing happiness over certain people,
a tad better.-
Of all the elixirs arranged in your mystic shelves,
place me in a corner-condemned by the wizards,
practiced only by You.
-
'Do you even miss me, when I am away?' she asked.
I smiled, as my heart ached.-
