Once upon a time
I heard the rain humming outside
In the dark
I ran towards you
Hiding under the razai
"Thumblina" I whispered

The warmth in
Your loving touch
The coziness and
Your giggles
The sound of dripping water in the balcony and I wished
"I never ever want this rain to stop!"

Oh! How I loved,
To laugh ourselves silly,
Munching till it last long,
Those walks to the roadside tapri,
Will you ever share your clothes with us?
We grew up somewhere in between creating these memories

And now you have met the love of your life
I see not from too far
The same warmth in
Your loving touch
The coziness and indeed
Your giggles as you now hold your little one closer
"Oh but wait, when did this rain stop?"

I wonder,
if the little one will also adore the rain!
Will she hear the humming too?
In the dark, will she run towards you?
Hiding her under the razai
"Thumblina" I hope she will utter it right!
Or will I get to wispher it once again?

लहान अस्ताना
दारा ला बाहेरुन लाऊन कुलूप
वाईट नज्रेन पासुन,
तू मला घरात लपवलं
काही त्रास नको माझ्या लहानश्या जीवा ला
म्हणू तू आपल दुःख मनातच लपवलं

आज मी कुठे तसेच तू कुठे
बंद दरवाजा असूनही आतून
मन अस्वस्थ वाटू लागल
आपले डोळे एकत्र येतात, आपल्या मनाची वेदना मंडतात
तरी ही, हसुन... एकमेकांचा आधार घेऊन
मी परते वेगळ्या दिशेला

का कुणास ठाऊक पण
एकदा पुन्हा मन म्हणते,
सांगू कुणाला तरी
लावा ह्या दाराला बाहेरुन कुलूप,
घट्ट धरून तुझा पदर बाजूला
आज राहावं दोघिनी घरातच लपून
