You scolded me for sleeping till late and I became an early riser.
You didn't help me with homework and I became an independent reader.
You didn't drop me to school and I learnt to cross the roads at the age of seven.
You didn't hug me after a heated argument and I learnt to deal with emotions.
You didn't speak to me for longer and I learnt to win people back.
You didn't give me everything but you gave much more than you could.
You didn't expose me to a lot of skills but boosted my ability to value my morals.
You didn't buy me nice shoes but taught me to stand firm in my torn shoes.
At times, I felt if you were softer and smiled more.
But then I thought would I really like the version that's not so familiar!
Because I knew that the soft father inside you would always make sure that the mother does what you wouldn't do.

But I eventually learnt it.

I don't like winter evenings. It's silent and cold. My mind goes straight to my hometown, my home, where my mother must be aimlessly doing some activity and my father must be starring on the news channel.— % &

इनमें छवि अपना देखती हूं।
दीमक लगी हुई Democracy में भी
मैं फ़र्ज़ अपना निभाती हूं।
देश के लिए मरने का नहीं पता
पर जीती ज़रूर देश के लिए हूं।
ज़ज़्बा हिंदुस्तान के लिया ऐसा है
मैं Tax समय पे भरती हूं।
भुख मिटे दूसरे का, तन ढके लोगो का
इसकी कोशिश करती हूं।
धड़कन में देश और नब्ज़ में तिरंगा को
हमेश महसूस करती हूं।
देशभक्ति की बात ही नहीं
देश को अपना मानती भी हूं।
नए और पुराने का सामनाजस्य बनाए
हर रोज़ कदम बढ़ती हूं।
आम इंसान बनकर भी
मैं देश को आगे रखती हूं।
इसकी मिट्टी, इसकी हवा को
साफ-सुथरा रखने की कोशिश करती हूं।
आनी वाली पीढ़ी को सच का पाठ पढ़ाती हूं।
जिस नाम से भी बुला लो तुम मुझे
मैं इस देश की नारी के नाम से ही जानी जाती हूं।— % &

Haters don't need a reason to hate us. Hate is normal. Dislike is normal. Doing a hundred good things doesn't guarantee like from someone. It's subjective. So, we need to learn to live with the hate around. The emotions that other carry for us must not bother us.
