Butterflies racing in tummy,
Mind rehearsing the word 'Mummy',
That's how the next few hours went
The gift was unexpected, but God-sent.

Touching my stomach with utmost care,
I whispered slightly,"Are you really in there?"
Maybe too small to give a reply
The little one was already making us fly.

Then arrived the moment to disclose the big news
To tell everyone of the arrival of our muse,
At present, a little dot in my tummy
One who'll soon call me mummy.

Shy at first, we disclosed to our family
The news brought a surprise surely
Laughter and joy were soon to follow
Our little world will soon be bigger with a little fellow.

1. The First Knock

Loss in appetite,
Uneasiness slight
Followed by vomitings
And dizziness while working

Taking it as a side effect of stress,
I casted it ashore
But husband dear was super excited
For a pregnancy test kit, his pockets bore.

Seeing it, I laughed slightly,
But he was almost jumping with glee
For him, I took the test, not knowing
what destiny had in store for me.

Within moments, two pink lines appeared,
And I stared at it with open mouth
Showing the 'Would be Father' the result,
I saw him jumping and dancing around.

Quite unexpected, it was for me
But little fingers were knocking my door
Standing there, quite blank, at first,
Happiness slowly spread in galore.

The people who come into your life, they don't come without any reason. God has his own motive to introduce you with different characters of his one big novel. The novel, in which you yourself are a character. There'll be some characters who'll be there just for a few pages, but they'll leave an everlasting imprint on your heart. While there will be some who'll have many chapters dedicated to them, but the main motive behind their entry was to teach you an important lesson. No matter how long the character stays in the story, each character has its own importance and so does everyone who comes into your life.

The outburst

Cranky mind,
Snappy mouth
Tired body
And a peace yearning soul

Flooding eyes,
Sobbing heart
Nobody understands
The plights in my cart

Too much pressure
Too much struggle
Failing to cope up each day
Failing to do everything

Frustration keeps on piling
Fear takes on a toll
Failing to keep it all in,
BANG! bursts the ball.

Everything's a mess now
For just the shattered pieces remain
Don't know how to fix it
Or how to get up again.

But then a inner voice, I hear,
That asks me not to give up.
A promise it seeks, to keep going
Even when the things get tough.

And thus, I muster all the courage
And start picking up the broken pieces
Life is bound to be tough,
And these are just its different phases.

Yes, I won't give up
For problems come and go
Even if I'm struggling today,
Tomorrow I'll surely shine and glow.
