आज मैंने डस्टबिन में, पकवानों को सड़ते देखा।
चूल्हे के आगे बैठे, उसे रोटी को तरसते देखा।।

रेशमी कपड़ों से मैंने, हीरों को बिखरते देखा।
फटे पुराने चीथड़े से, उसको तन ढकते देखा।।

न जाने क्या ग़म है, दोनों की जिंदगानी में;
नरम तकिये पे उसको मैंने, रोते-तरसते देखा।
टूटी खाट पे सिर टिकाए, मैंने उसे सिसकते देखा।।

तूफानों से बचने को,
ठहरी हूं अभी,
मुझमें उड़ने का जुनून
उतना ही है.....

तिमिर की नदियों के पार,
नया सवेरा लाना है।
तप है जीवन मेरा ये,
कोई किरण मुझे बन जाना है।।

Through darkness I wait, with faith in the divine,
To shine like the sun, in this soul of mine.

मेरी बेवफ़ाई की दास्तां सुनाने वालों,
मेरी वफ़ाओं के किस्से याद करना।

मेरी हंसी पे रश्क करते हो क्यूॅं ?
ज़रा मेरे आंसूओं का हिसाब करना।

गुनाह है, इश्क़ में इबादत महबूब की,
अपनी मर्तबा तुम, इंतिख़ाब-ए-खुदा करना।।

Emotions hidden, soul abides.
I yearn to dive, to touch his heart,
To bring to light his secret part.

I trusted hearts, but they played a cruel game,
My wounds became a spectacle, a shame.
Their whispers, laughter, and pointing fingers too,
Left me shattered, with a heart that's broken in two.
