As a huge MSD fan, I can safely say that people demand answers from him because he's always been that match-winner for India. People idolise him, people love him, people call themselves MSDians. In all honesty, no one expected Pant or Karthik to win that match for India but people were actively seeking Dhoni out to win it for us.

When he came out to bat, there were banners all around screaming only one thing, 'Dhoni you're our only hope.' When there is that dedication, that passion, some critique will follow that player if he is not able to top the 'unrealistic expectations' that he's faced with every single time. It's okay. We're a generation that switched their TV off when Sachin got out. We're also the generation which continued watching the match when Sachin got out, "Sachin out hua hai, koi baat nahi, abhi Dhoni aayega."

So sorry if the fans are asking too many questions, but Dhoni has himself spoiled us. Not too long ago, it was "Dhoni hai toh mumkin hai." So sorry, if we forgot he's human too, instead of being a super-hero who can win us all the matches.

It's been a while since we've met and talked or looked into each others eyes. We started with the purest relationship and it turned into a strong bond of love.
