Why hide your scars?
Your scars are not just a reminder of your past.
Your scars are a proof that even though you've fallen, you've managed to rise.
Even though you've been crushed, you've had the strength to heal.

Your scars are not just a reminder of your past.
They are a reminder of the light that stubbornly shines within you, casting hope over the path that lies ahead of you.

When you can wear them proudly like badges of honour,
Why hide your scars?

You don't know how heavy
the bag you've been carrying for so long is,
until you put it down.

Nice; not naive.

To all the Good Guys

We regret not saying it to them, but here goes a heartfelt thank you, to you three strangers on a trek and to all the good guys out there.

We instinctively tend to mistrust your intentions.
We may not say it often enough,

Thank you for all the sweet little things you do for us.
Thank you for reminding us of the goodness in the world.
Thank you for restoring our faith in humanity.

Generosity and Stinginess

"The two of you can ride the scooty. The three of us will share the bike," they offered.
"Oh no no, we've got someone who's coming to pick us. Thanks though," we replied with a mixture of relief and surprise.

As they drove away, we imagined how these young men must've debated on turning back, wondered how they'd be perceived and emphasized that we'd be together on the scooty.
We pondered over how we had matched their generosity with our ample "no, no" and how we had been relatively soft and stingy with our "thank yous".

Curiosity, Apprehension & Alarm

After the descent, we noticed the three guys ride away on a bike and a scooty, as we waited for a pre-hired cab to come and pick us up.
Our curiosity was piqued as we saw the guys come back and zip past us.
Apprehension turned to alarm when we noticed them approach us a few minutes later.

"Do you know how to ride a scooty?", asked one of them as they stopped near us.
"What?" we asked them, the bravado in our voices quite apparent.

Strangers on a Trek

I had been on a trek with my friend. We girls made it to the peak of Sondaigad and found that we weren't the only ones there.
"Good! We can ask them to click our picture", my friend whispered to me as soon as we spotted the group of three college boys.

Pictures were clicked, chai and theplas were offered and politely refused both ways.
And that was the last we'd see of each other.
Or so we thought...

The Day

The day I saw it
In those eyes I'd
Known so well.

The day I realised
You were with me;
But not, for me.

The day I understood
That you wanted out;
But hesitated to ask.

The day I knew,
My love was now
A one way street.

The day you got
What you wanted;
But lost what you had.

Jitna un jazbaato ka hai
Jo tu peeche chhod gaya...

When you lose someone to death,
It hurts knowing that they once loved you
but now you can't even see their smile, talk about your day, feel their warm embrace or hear them tell you that they love you.

When you lose someone to time or distance,
It hurts to know that they once loved you,
but now you can't even see their smile, talk about your day, feel their warm embrace or hear them tell you that they love. It hurts even more because they are alive and they could, but they don't want to.
