And then he called my name
In a firm but gentle voice
A voice that has depth and sincerity..
For a moment, it appeared to be
the most beautiful sound in the world.
Every syllable coming out
of his mouth was like a melody.
I never knew my name could ever
sound so attractive..

I looked back. He was holding the door for me.
Our eyes met for a second.
If only the time could stop at this moment.. but..
He called me, once again. And I knew I had to go..

मेरी अलमारी के किसी कोने में
एक घड़ी है, थोड़ी पुरानी...
वक़्त नहीं बताती, बस याद दिलाती है
उस वक़्त की जो गुज़र गया..

कैसे कह दूं मेरी दुनिया का हिस्सा हो तुम,
मेरी दुनिया के लिए तो एक अनजान किस्सा हो तुम..

ये phone ही तो है जो हमें आपस में जोड़ता है..
इसके अंदर मानो एक अलग ही जहान बसता है..
जहां हम अक्सर टकराते हैं
छोटी-बड़ी हर बात बताते हैं..
जहां मेरे status और तुम्हारी stories हैं,
पास होकर भी हममें यहां कितनी दूरी है..
चंद तस्वीरें हैं, कुछ यादें हैं
कहने को तो सब है, पर सब बीतें वक्त की बातें हैं..

पर इसके बाहर भी तो मेरी एक दुनिया है..
जहां मैं हूं, मेरी किताबें हैं
कुछ दोस्त हैं, अनेक बातें हैं..
जहां धूप है, बरसात है
और न जाने कितने एहसास हैं..

पर जहां तुम नहीं हो..
कहीं भी नहीं हो..

तो बताओ,
कैसे कह दूं मेरी दुनिया का हिस्सा हो तुम..
मेरी हक़ीक़त के लिए तो केवल एक किस्सा हो तुम...
