"Drop to University Hostel"
As the campus reached near,
Every step seemed heavier.
A day of change for her son,
A new chapter of life had begun.
Experienced never before, first of its kind.
How he'll manage, thousand thoughts crossed her mind.
At University the slow feet reached.
From her to his hands suitcase switched.
Breath felt heavy as hands waved bye.
Heart did weep but eyes hid the cry.
She has to go home, he'll stay here.
One big hug pulling him near,
A silent whisper "I'll miss you dear"
As the warden took him away.
Her distraught heart wanted to say
Please, A minute more let him stay!
But she knew, she has to be strong.
Journey to success won't be long.
Although today, seperation seemed longer.
In demanding world, it would make him stronger.
Back home on her way,
Her mind was frozen, eyes were swollen.
Heart felt cold, life felt uneven.
Tongue lost taste, stomach lost hunger.
Pause between seconds had become longer.
Her quite soul, missed him all the day,
Never before had he been away.
Had not imagined a day without him near.
"keep him safe" was mother's only bedtime prayer.

The pedagogist thing about distance is
That it teaches you, whether
You should hear mind's apprehensions or
Listen to your heart...-
हौसला जो बनायें रखो...
रुख़ नदियों के भी बदलते है,
रेत के तिनकों से ।
उड़ान आसमानों की शुरू होती है,
पंखौ की उम्मीदों से ।-
Visitor with Feathers
(Wings of happiness - Part 3)
Visitor knocking on window with it's beak,
Who is it? Curious me, wanted to find quick.
To my heart's delight found it was him,
I opened the window, happiness flew in.
Took rounds in the room, sat on the pillow,
Then it rushed out to sit on the window.
Again took flight towards backyard tree,
Looked back like saying 'come with me'
I shook my head confirming I'll follow.
As if something he wants me to see,
I walked along wondering what could it be.
Shout of excitement, the sight was the best,
Pleasing to eyes, It was a beautifully crafted nest.
Three tiny chicks in with their mother.
Blessed to see his family together.
Now I knew what he wanted to show me,
My heart as happy as it could ever be.
Tears of joy rolled down my cheeks,
Like Ocean's calling heard by creeks.
I came back home delighted & smiling,
Experience which was soul touching.
Grateful how lucky I have been,
What a amazing world I live in.
I looked around the pillow to see,
Why he had been there, what could it be.
Found something glittering blue, green reddish....
He had left me a exquisite feather,
and lifetime memories to cherish!

"Wings of happiness" (Part 2)
Without me he couldn't handle a day,
Searching me out of window he flew away.
Gathering my emotions, I gulped the pain.
Not knowing we were destined to meet again.
One fine day while I was wandering,
Amongst branches heard a rustling.
Sitting on cherry tree whistling,
As much delighted he was smiling.
Before I could react or think,
On my shoulder he was within a blink.
Chattering with voice up high,
Telling stories of adventures in open sky.
Singing song of life out there,
How happy he was gliding everywhere.
Connection that remains even when apart
Life's freedom beyond possessing things,
I understood his home was sky!
With heavy but happy heart
I let him spread his wings,
Once again free to fly!

"Wings of happiness" (Part 1)
A curved beak, vibrant colourful feathers,
Exuberant eyes and clawed feet.
When rushing towards me happily,
Excited my soul and touched my heartbeat.
With him in life, world seemed so new
My eyes glitter when calling his name "Sonu"
With heart's delight quickly affection grew.
He'll be part of every moment, who knew
Responding to my calls with Screech & squawk,
Language of bond beyond species, he talked.
Days went by, so well we got along,
I belived together till eternity we belong.
Uncertainty of life did unravel,
Day came when I had to travel.
Leaving him home, asking not to miss
Picked my bag, blowed him flying kiss.
Back home from trip as I arrived,
Knocking the door I almost cried.
Whom my heart longed to see,
Wasn't there anymore with me.
Without me he couldn't handle a day,
Searching me out of window he flew away.-
