I can't promise you
to hold an umbrella
whenever it rains,
but I can surely promise,
to walk by your side,
however muddy and hurdling
the whole journey be,
getting completely drenched in rain.

I can't promise to bring
all the happiness you desire,
but I can surely be the shoulder
upon which your pains can breathe
silently and peacefully.

Life isn't a fairy tale,
nor a perfectly scripted movie,
But if you be my pen,
I can promise to write
the best novel,
together.
